Matt Hill's obsession with the Grand National began when he saw the film Champions, aged seven.

Plenty of other children develop a fascination for the race but few do so from Australia. On a day he will remember forever, the Australian is at Aintree to make his dream come true.

In November, Hill became the voice of the Melbourne Cup. For one year only he is also the voice of the Grand National, having been appointed by the BBC to lead its radio commentary team on 5 live and the World Service while John Hunt comes to the end of a Commonwealth Games-inspired stint in Hill's homeland.
