How do you see this year’s delayed Derby?
Harry Bentley, jockey It’s quite an open race and you can make a case for quite a few. I really like English King. I thought he was very impressive at Lingfield and his stamina is proven. However, he hasn’t been blessed with a good draw in stall one. Kameko is the class horse of the race, but will he stay?
Richard Hoiles, ITV Racing There are a few more question marks than normal, particularly with Kameko who’s going from a mile to a mile and a half with no stepping stone. My selection would be Russian Emperor. I’m worried he may lack a little bit of class but I think he has shaped like a horse who will improve markedly for a step up in trip.
Stuart Jones, Sky Bet This year’s Investec Derby looks wide open. However, I’m sticking with an Aidan O’Brien runner. Russian Emperor impressed me at Royal Ascot beating a very good field and I could see further improvement stepping up in trip. I greatly respect Kameko but just have my doubts over his ability to truly stay the Derby trip.
