Derby opponents schooled by O'Brien as perfect pupil aces yet another test
As triumphant Derby day quotes go it could hardly be bettered.
Asked how he would celebrate, the great family man said: “I don’t know. Usually when I win, 20 minutes later I'm already half-pissed.”
It is not something you expect to hear from lifelong teetotaller Aidan O’Brien and in truth the remark was made by a magician cut from different cloth – the distinctly non-Teutonic and irresistible German Jurgen Klopp after he had steered the gritty city of Liverpool back into ecstatic harbour home some hours after the Derby at Epsom.
