This Grade 3, formerly known as the Racing Post Chase, has a deep and rich history which features Gold Cup and Grand National winners. It is a top class handicap and so gives many horses a chance to shine at this level.

Saturday's race may have lacked the strength in depth of those vintage renewals, with the top-rated being Good Boy Bobby on 150.

However, it still produced a competitive 14-runner field with many horses on a recovery mission after failing to achieve what was probably hoped for them at the beginning of this season.
