'Ideal candidate' in good form for Scottish Grand National bid

This is my last column of the season and I hope Notachance can provide the perfect send-off with a big run in the Coral Scottish Grand National on Sunday.

I've had this race in mind for him for a while and he looked the ideal candidate for Ayr when winning at Bangor and Warwick in mid-season.

You can put a line through his last run at Haydock as he suffered a nasty injury: he spread a hind plate, the toe clip went straight into his foot and he was lame for two weeks afterwards.
