'He's like driving a top-of-the-range car' - Jason Weaver picks his ten

At the top of my list is Alenquer for obvious reasons. He was on my list last year and is a proven Group 1 performer, having won the Tattersalls Irish Gold Cup on his first start, but we don't know where his ceiling is.

I was really impressed with Walk Of Stars at Lingfield, considering he went up against a match-fit rival in United Nations. He worked at Epsom and he looked fantastic. He's peaking at just the right time.

Baaeed picks himself after extending his unbeaten run in the Lockinge for William Haggas, while US raider Golden Pal looks as though he will be the dominant force in the sprinting division. We've been waiting for one to jump up over here and he could be the banker at Royal Ascot.

I'll also include Godolphin's Modern Games, who looks a good thing for the Prix du Jockey Club. Charlie Appleby has so many top middle-distance horses and Modern Games seems really flexible. From a jockey's point of view, he would be like driving a top-of-the-range car.

Luxembourg will be a forgotten horse for many people after his injury. He looked Aidan O'Brien's main Classic hope but that went out the window. He's the type to come out and be a major player in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe with his three-year-old allowance.

It is a little left field but Masekela is interesting for Andrew Balding. He messed around in the stalls before the Dante, so we never got to see him, but he's done incredibly well physically from two to three and was only a few lengths behind some good horses last season.

Homeless Songs has to be in there. She has quite a wide-splayed galloping action in front, which would make you think she wouldn't want it on the quick side, but if she gets her conditions she's going to be a rocket.

We'll also throw in Trueshan. Let's hope we get to see him and Stradivarius in all those top staying races this campaign. He's an absolute beast when he gets his perfect ground conditions.

Finally, I'll include the Japanese star Shahryar. He narrowly denied Yibir in the Sheema Classic and is on course for the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, and also holds an entry in the Arc in October.
