'He sets the standard' - how the past week's trial winners compare on ratings

Impressive Leopardstown winner Stone Age leaped to the head of the Derby rankings on Sunday as Aidan O'Brien's dominance of the Classic trials continued, with the well-backed favourite running to a provisional RPR of 117.

That ranks him highly among winners of the Leopardstown contest and, clearly the pick of the past week's trial scorers, he sets the standard for Epsom in Luxembourg's absence. He is likely to head there as both favourite and form horse unless the Dante unearths something special.

Traditionally the strongest of the Classic trials from Chester and Lingfield, the Chester Vase again produced the best figure from the five races with Changingoftheguard dominating his three rivals to improve to an RPR of 112+.
