Franked with the royal seal – Ascot hopefuls boasting fabulous form
With Royal Ascot just a few days away, here are a bunch of horses running at the meeting whose recent form has been boosted.
Mutakayyef (Queen Anne, Prince of Wales’s)
Form line: 5th when too keen in 1m1f Dubai Turf (Group 1), Meydan, Mar 25
The six-year-old was beaten only five and three-quarter lengths in the Dubai Turf despite, on what was his first start after a lengthy absence, wasting energy by racing keenly on unsuitably slow ground. That is the only time he has finished out of the first three. Add in his Ascot record of one win and one second from two starts and he looks an appealing each-way proposition next week.
