By BHA chief executive Nick Rust's own admission, these are interesting times for British racing. They are also interesting times for the BHA.

It has in recent months seen its very position as the sport's governing and regulatory body being questioned, while chairman Steve Harman is set to leave before his term was due to finish owing to a breakdown in the relationship with his own board members.

It has also suffered a number of embarrassing blunders in its day job on the racecourse and reverses in high-profile disciplinary cases.
