Juvenile analysis: Blackbeard leads a strong pack aimed at the Coventry

The Aidan O'Brien-trained Blackbeard heads what looks a strong juvenile class in 2022.

The No Nay Never colt is unbeaten in three starts and his form already has a solid look to it. He beat Crispy Cat – runner-up in the National Stakes since – at the Curragh in May, before winning the Marble Hill Stakes with Tough Talk, winner of a strong maiden on his debut, and Mehmar, who had pushed The Antarctic (96) close on his debut, in behind.

Blackbeard's Racing Post Rating of 107, achieved in the Marble Hill, is well up to standard for the race, and matched only by Caravaggio in the last ten years.
