If we swallowed the post-race scripts, sitting across from me in the vintage-style office attached to the Giants Causeway yard at Ballydoyle should be wife Annemarie, daughters Sarah and Ana, sons Joseph and Donnacha, Mr and Mrs Smith, Mr and Mrs Tabor and Mr and Mrs Magnier.

Ryan Moore might sit on the arm of a couch with Seamie Heffernan at the other end – and don't forget the unfamiliar faces who work tirelessly behind the scenes. We would have to find a spot for those too.

Squeezing all of the above into the same room at the same time on a mid-March afternoon to chat about the forthcoming Flat season proved problematic, so we must make do with the record-breaking trainer who reckons he is as much use as the 'b' in thumb.
