Advertising watchdog closely monitoring gambling firms during coronavirus crisis

The UK's advertising watchdog is encouraging the public to report any gambling adverts that seek to exploit the coronavirus outbreak.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) warned it would "not hesitate" to take firm action against what it described as "irresponsible messaging" in gambling adverts.

The ASA said: "The conduct of the online gambling industry, including the nature and frequency of its advertising, is under particular scrutiny during this period of national emergency.
