Horn Cape (2.40 Sedgefield)
6-1 from 11
There has been some support for Horn Cape ahead of his stable debut for Ben Haslam at Sedgefield. The JP McManus-owned six-year-old was winless in five starts for Nicky Henderson, including when beaten by 24 lengths on his handicap debut at Exeter when last last seen. However, the winner that day, Blenkinsop, went on to win a Class 2 handicap and is now rated 131 so was entitled to score by that wide margin. Back in a weaker race after a break, punters are hoping that Horn Cape can make a winning start for Haslam at the trainer's winningmost track.
Lihou (4.10 Southwell)
4-1 from 13-2
The David Evans-trained seven-year-old has been a consistent performer over the winter, having finished in the first four on his last four starts. Lihou is only 4lb higher than when winning over this trip at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start and has been supported to record a first success at Southwell.
Beneficiary (7.00 Newcastle)
5-1 from 8
Finished second on his final two starts for Karl Burke before taking a step back on his first run for Liam Bailey at Chelmsford last Thursday. That effort can be excused given that Beneficiary hung badly to his right and this extra furlong that he faces here should suit. Jason Watson has been booked to ride the four-year-old for the first time and has a level-stakes profit of £46.50 when combining with Bailey.
