NBA Finals preview

If we’ve learned anything from this year’s NBA playoffs it’s to expect the unexpected, and there may well be a few more twists to come now we’ve reached the Finals.

Golden State have home-court advantage as Steve Kerr’s slick offensive outfit go in search of a fourth title since 2015. And having gone 9-0 at the Chase Center through the playoffs, they’re more than happy to drop anchor in California.

Having said that, Boston don’t mind a road trip. In fact they seem to thrive on being outsiders given their 7-2 away record in winning the Eastern Conference.

And if you can go to Brooklyn, Milwaukee and Miami and win games, then you can go anywhere and do it – and that includes San Francisco.

The Warriors need their holy trinity of Curry, Thompson and Green to deliver and you just know they’ll be racking up three-pointers from minute one of the best-of-seven series. In their faces, however, will be Jayson Tatum and one of the toughest, biggest defensive units around who will happily make this as messy as possible and force Golden State into sizeable turnover territory.

The Dub are favs and that makes sense. But this looks too close to call and could easily go to seven.
