Danish Grand Prix preview

The Vojens Speedway Center in Denmark plays host to round eight of this season's world championship series.

It’s a small technical circuit where overtaking is notoriously difficult so making good starts will be crucial to success.

All eyes will be on the rapidly improving Dan Bewley, who seeks his third Grand Prix victory on the spin after collecting maximum points at Cardiff and Wroclaw.

He’s riding on the crest of a wave and boasts sound claims of completing the hat-trick, although British compatriot Robert Lambert is preferred at almost triple the price.

Lambert has been solid rather than spectacular this season but he arrives in Vojens following a confidence-boosting first podium finish in Wroclaw.

The 2020 European champion finished fifth in this corresponding event 12 months ago - that was his best result of the season - and he again displayed his liking for Vojens when helping team Great Britain secure the silver medal at the Speedway of Nations in July.

He currently occupies seventh spot in the championship standings with just three rounds remaining but needs to break into the top six to guarantee his place in next year's series, so the incentive for a strong end to the season is clear.

Leon Madsen arrives in fine fettle but gating is a weakness for the Danish racer and this circuit may not play to his strengths.

Tai Woffinden has endured a difficult campaign but has an excellent track record around Vojens and is another who could go well at double-figure odds.
