Wonderboy can take welterweight title

UFC 209 was thrown into disarray before Friday's weigh-ins when lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov was hospitalised and pulled from the card.

Khabib was an 8-13 favourite to beat Tony Ferguson for the interim title in the co-main event.

The attention will now all be on Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, who is 8-11 to beat welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in a rematch after their draw at UFC 205.

The feeling is that Thompson underperformed in their original fight and with a few tweaks he can take the belt.

Woodley is a fantastic wrestler but if Wonderboy can stay on his feet his superior striking may be the difference.
