Leinster Senior Championship
Pearse Stadium, 4pm Sunday

Wexford looked to have their Leinster Championship campaign off to the perfect start seven-days ago, leading Dublin by three points in the last few moments of the game having fought back from a five point deficit. But they were to be denied by a late Sean Moran goal with the last puck which left the sides sharing the points.

They now travel to Pearse Stadium in Galway with their season in the balance and face a tough task, albeit a slightly easier one given the absence of Joe Canning.

Lee Chin top-scored for Davy Fitzgerald’s side last weekend with 0-11 and his form has been key to Wexford’s success in recent years. Their spread of scorers has been a hallmark of Fitz’s tenure as he encourages his players to attack from deep but they will be wary of Galway’s dangerous forward line capitalizing on that, as they did in the league quarter-final.

Galway opened their campaign two weeks ago with a straightforward win over Carlow and, interestingly, Cathal Mannion now moves to the forward line having starred in midfield during the league.

Galway are unbeaten at home since March 2018, when they lost to All Ireland champions Limerick, and their style is definitely suited to Pearse Stadium. This should be a straightforward enough success for the Tribesmen.
