Sligo ready to ramp up pressure on winless Cork

Kick-offs 7.45pm Monday

Sligo Rovers can increase the pressure on Cork City manager John Caulfield with a League of Ireland victory over the Rebel Army on Monday.

The former champions have lost two out of two this term and face a real challenge against Sligo, who have been competitive and look especially tough to break down. There was little between the Connacht men and St Patrick's on Friday.

Caulfield has conceded that his side are struggling to score goals. They should do better with time but look too short for this game given their confidence level and Sligo's improvement. The home side could have former Ipswich striker Ronan Murray available for the first time, while Ronan Coughlan impressed against Pat's.

Derry City have made an encouraging start and arguably don't deserve to be outsiders at home to Waterford, given the Blues face a five-hour drive and are travelling today. They were a bit unlucky to be beaten by Shamrock Rovers on Friday and ought to be marginal favourites.

Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers clash in the Dublin derby, a top-of-the-table tie. Rovers are persisting with a midfield full of number-ten types and Bohs, who are well-coached, can exploit that by getting at least a point.
