Preview

Hibs have got goals aplenty in them and look a solid shout to see off St Mirren in the Ladbrokes Premiership at Easter Road.

Jack Ross' tenure is starting to show results as he tries to salvage a season that should never have been in the mess it was with the squad they have.

Striker Christian Doidge has gone from being something of a joke figure with fans to a player on fire as his midweek William Hill Scottish Cup replay hat-trick against Dundee United brought his tally for the season to 14 goals.

With the excellent Martin Boyle providing ammunition, Hibs rarely have trouble scoring.

They do have an alarming tendency to ship goals at the back, though, as they are fielding a makeshift defence following injuries to Ryan Porteous and Jason Naismith.

But their score-one-more-than-you policy makes for entertaining affairs and Ross should have plenty to celebrate against his old side from Paisley, who are organised if limited in an attacking sense.

It could also pay to support Hibs' rejuvenated capital rivals Hearts at St Johnstone.

The inspired signing of Liam Boyce should be enough to keep the Premiership's bottom side up on its own and the ex-Burton striker took just one game, while half-fit, to show what he's all about when he netted the winner in a brilliant comeback win over Rangers last week.

With Scotland striker Steven Naismith alongside him, they will certainly be the best attacking duo in the league outside the Old Firm.

They face a Saints side who were ripped apart by a rampant Celtic in midweek in the first half at least and Hearts can boost their relegation worries with a win in Perth.

Morton can turn up the heat on under-pressure Dundee boss James McPake with a home win at a decent price.

The Cappielow outfit were within a few seconds of winning at Dundee United last week until Lawrence Shankland rescued the hosts at Tannadice.

Morton are poor travellers, but are usually strong at home and the addition of Sean McGinty from Partick Thistle this week should help them.

They will face a Dens Park side bereft of confidence and who have lost three in a row without scoring.
