Match preview

Real Madrid are yet to lose at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga this season and will been keen to maintain their excellent home record as they decamp to the Alfredo di Stefano for the rest of the campaign.

With the Bernabeu undergoing renovations, Madrid will play their remaining six home contests at their reserve team's ground, starting with the visit of lowly Eibar.

While Real Madrid, who went into the season's postponement two points adrift of Barcelona, are locked in a title tussle with their El Clasico rivals, visitors Eibar are hoping to preserve their top-flight status.

The away side have lost four of their last five matches in La Liga, winning only seven times in Spain's elite division all season, and have been held back by a lack of quality in the final third.

Ageing duo Fabian Orellana and Charles are the club's top scorers in the league with only seven and five strikes respectively and they are unlikely to cause many problems for the tightest rearguard in the division.

Dani Carvajal, Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, along with either Marcelo or Ferland Mendy, have been mainstays in a defence who have conceded a league-low 19 goals in 27 matches this term.

Real Madrid know how to shut out opposition, having beaten Barcelona 2-0 before the season's hiatus, and the break will have allowed the team to regroup.

The Barca success was their only win in their last four matches but they have had time to reflect on that run and can welcome back key talents such as Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio, who could have missed the rest of the season if not for the postponement.

That gives them an injection of quality up top to aid consistent goalscorer Karim Benzema and their solid defence should keep tabs on their Basque opponents, enhancing appeal about backing a Real Madrid win to nil.

Key stat

No team have kept more clean sheets than Real Madrid (13) in La Liga this term.
