Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus should have too much for Parma

Juventus begin their quest for a ninth consecutive league title with an away trip to Parma. Although deprived of new coach Maurizio Sarri, as he recovers from a bout of pneumonia, the champions should start well.

Parma fought off the competition to sign Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt and also welcomed midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot on free transfers in some particularly shrewd business this summer.

Up front the Old Lady off-loaded Moise Kean to Everton and with Paulo Dybala's future unresolved it is unclear as to who will partner Cristiano Ronaldo. Last season's Serie A Player of the Year will be hoping to open his account at the first time of asking.

Parma will attempt to subdue the star-studded Juventus line-up and can take confidence from securing a draw in Turin last season.

However, Roberto D'Aversa's side stuttered on their return to Serie A last year, failing to pick up a win in their first three games and look set for another slow start.

Juventus have won seven of their last eight opening games and are favourites to prevail again. It is worth backing the visitors to keep a clean sheet having done so on three of their last six trips to the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

Recommendation
Juventus to win to nil
