Match preview

Napoli hold a 1-0 advantage from the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final against Inter Milan and can make the most of their fine home record in this competition to seal a place in the final.

The pair are set to play their first competitive games since the shutdown and will both be looking to lay down a marker with plenty still to play for this season.

Fabian Ruiz's curling effort made the difference at San Siro in February and the Partenopei can find confidence in having won seven of their last eight cup ties on their own patch.

Inter will, however, take heart from having won 3-1 at the Stadio San Paolo in January. Romelu Lukaku grabbed a brace on that occasion, while Lautaro Martinez closed out the scoring.

Kalidou Koulibaly was missing that day but is back fit after a thigh injury and has the class to keep a handle on the duo.

Inter boss Antonio Conte also has a poor record in this competition, having won just four of 11 Coppa Italia ties inside 90 minutes while in charge of Juventus. In contrast, opposite number Gennaro Gattuso led Milan to the final and the semis in his 18 months managing the Rossoneri.

While the teams have shared nine goals in their last two league games, February's first leg was more in keeping with the duo's recent meetings. Between April 2017 and December 2018, the pair met four times, and none of those meetings produced more than one goal.

The Nerazzurri have not won this competition since 2011 and could well miss out in a tight game.

Key stat

Five of the last seven meetings have produced no more than one goal
