Team news

Juventus
Juve have concerns at full-back, with Alex Sandro and Mattia De Sciglio both injured. Former Man City defender Danilo is suspended, leaving Blaise Matuidi as a makeshift left-back.

Lecce
Lecce are likely to swap their 4-3-1-2 system for something a little more conservative with Gianluca Lapadula out. They are also without midfielders Alessandro Deiola and Antonin Barak.

Match preview

Lecce’s hopes of avoiding relegation are fading, so a trip to champions Juventus is the last thing they need. Friday night’s clash could be incredibly difficult for the visitors, who have been thumped in recent matches.

Lecce’s 4-1 loss at home to Milan on Monday was bad enough, but it followed a 7-2 defeat to Atalanta and a 4-0 crushing by Roma in their two games before the league was halted. That’s 15 goals conceded in their three games against European contenders. Now they visit the league-leaders.

Despite sitting top, Juventus have faced plenty of backlash. New arrivals Maurizio Sarri and Matthijs de Ligt both received criticism after a shaky start. Giorgio Chiellini’s injury led to more concerns about their defence. However, Juve are yet to concede since the restart.

The partnership between De Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci is looking ominous for the rest of Serie A. The champions have met Milan, Napoli and Bologna in June and have faced only eight shots on target in that time. The Bianconeri look defensively sound, while they have won 12 from 13 at home in Serie A.

Juventus look well equipped to handle a Lecce side who have failed to score in four of their last five Serie A away days. With first-choice forward Gianluca Lapadula getting injured against Milan their attack is looking incredibly blunt.

Key stat

Juventus have won and kept a clean sheet in four of their last five home league games.
