Weekend preview

Wolfsburg v Bayer Leverkusen

BT Sport 3, 2.30pm Sunday

Oliver Glasner is quickly learning how fickle Bundesliga life can be and his Wolfsburg side's poor run could continue at home to Bayer Leverkusen.

The Wolves are without a win in six, losing their unbeaten start to the season in a 3-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund last weekend before a shock Europa League defeat to Gent on Thursday.

John Brooks is back in the side but first-choice goalkeeper Koen Casteels remains sidelined and they could struggle to tame the visitors, who are fresh from beating Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and have five-goal Kevin Volland and wonderkid Kai Havertz in their ranks.

Juventus v AC Milan

Premier 1, 7.45pm Sunday

Juventus have not looked like champions-elect in terms of performances this season but their minor troubles are nothing compared to Milan's continuing crisis.

New boss Stefano Pioli has lost two, drawn one and won one - which was a 1-0 success against woeful Spal - since joining the San Siro club and they have recorded their worst start to the top flight in 78 years.

Their fixture with the Old Lady used to be the pinnacle of Italian football but there is a tremendous gulf in class between the sides, who have played each other 16 times in Serie A since Milan's 2011 Scudetto, with Juventus winning 13 of those meetings.

The Old Lady are unbeaten, winning nine of their 11 games without breaking a sweat, and backing them to win in a game featuring under 3.5 goals, as they have done in ten of their previous 11, could be the way to go.

Marseille v Lyon

BT Sport 1, 8pm Sunday

Favourites in the ante-post without Paris Saint-Germain market, Lyon have made a stuttering start to Ligue 1 but recent results under new manager Rudi Garcia have been promising.

Their brand of positive, attacking football has seen them overcome Metz and Toulouse recently before slaying Benfica in the Champions League.

But Marseille, who have been imperious on home soil, losing only one of their six contests at the Stade Velodrome, will be a different challenge altogether.

Lyon will travel without key forward Memphis Depay and that alone tilts the contest in the home team's favour.

Real Betis v Sevilla

Premier 2, 8pm

El Gran Derbi is one of Spain's most hotly-contested matches but the Andalusian rivals have gone in different directions this season.

Sevilla have kept up with La Liga's pace-setters, winning six of their 12 matches, and they have looked particularly sharp at home under Julen Lopetegui, their only defeat being a 1-0 loss to Real Madrid.

The hosts seldom struggle for goals - Loren Moron has been on fire with seven league strikes - but they continue to concede too many and should have been breached against Real Madrid, conceding 22 shots and seven on target in that fixture.
