Atletico motivated in final game at Vicente Calderon
La Liga from 3.45pm & Serie A from 2pm Sunday
When most people think of Tenerife they imagine all-year sun and maybe a few pints on the famous Veronicas strip, but for Real Madrid it brings back nightmares of losing two La Liga titles to Barcelona on the final day of the season in the 1990s.
Swap away trips to Tenerife for Malaga and here we go again for Real Madrid, who need a draw to secure the title and are 1-14 to be crowned La Liga champions. A defeat would hand the title to 10-1 Barcelona should they beat Eibar at Camp Nou.
Much has been made of Malaga manager Michel's relationship with Real Madrid - he played for the club more than 400 times and sloppily said a few weeks ago that he would prefer his former club to win La Liga.
Malaga will also receive a hefty cash boost from Real Madrid if they lose as part of the deal that took Isco to the Bernabeu. A title success activates a clause in the transfer deal so conspiracy theorists have been having a field day in Spain.
The best bet comes away from the title race with Atletico Madrid, perhaps wrongly seen as having nothing to play for against Europa League-chasing Athletic Bilbao.
Motivation won't be a problem for Atletico in their final match at the Vicente Calderon and the connection between manager Diego Simeone, the squad and their supporters means the hosts will definitely want to finish with a bang.
Atletico were 8-13 to win this fixture last season but will go off at odds-against prices this time. Nothing stands out in the penultimate round of Serie A action.
