Team news

England
England are set to field a vastly different side to the one that faced Wales. Jadon Sancho and Tammy Abraham are again available for selection but Ben Chilwell will not feature because of an illness unrelated to Covid-19.

Belgium
Simon Mignolet is expected to start in goal. Eden Hazard remains a major doubt and Dries Mertens is also unlikely to feature but Jan Vertonghen is set to return.

Match preview

England's game against Belgium still promises to be a cracker as the teams fight for supremacy in League A Group 2 of the Uefa Nations League even though there will be no spectators at Wembley.

The Red Devils have defeated Denmark 2-0 and Iceland 5-1 to go top of the standings, while England only edged past Iceland 1-0 before playing out a 0-0 draw with the Danes.

Bookmakers and punters are finding it hard to separate the teams, with the visitors slight favourites, but there appears to be value in backing over 2.5 goals as both sides have a plethora of attacking options available.

England striker Harry Kane has netted 32 times from 47 games, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin notched on his debut against Wales before Danny Ings grabbed his first goal for the Three Lions.

Aston Villa's Jack Grealish also provides creativity and a goal threat, while Leicester's Harvey Barnes will be eager to impress if given another cameo.

Belgium will be hoping to have Inter Milan star Romelu Lukaku leading the line, as he has scored 52 goals from 85 caps, although they have Michy Batshuayi, who has scored three goals in his last two international appearances, to call upon if needed.

The potential absence of Eden Hazard will be a blow for the Red Devils, given the fact he has netted on 32 occasions for his country, but Leandro Trossard, Christian Benteke and Jeremy Doku are waiting in the wings if required.

Roberto Martinez's side are on an incredible 13-game unbeaten run, with a 1-1 draw against Ivory Coast on Thursday ending a run of 12 straight wins, and they have scored a mammoth 52 times during those contests.

Over 2.5 goals has failed to come in only twice during that run, highlighting their prowess in the final third, while seven of England's last nine outings have also produced over 2.5 goals.

The Three Lions have scored an impressive 29 goals in their last seven home matches, with over 2.5 goals in all of those contests.

Belgium last failed to score away (outside of major competitions) in June 2015 – a scoring run that stands at 20 games – and another goal-fest could be on the cards.

Key stat

Belgium have scored 52 goals in their last 13 matches, winning 12 and drawing one.
