US star Adrian could rise to the big occasion

Four disciplines are about to start and the men’s 100m freestyle is the main draw.

Three athletes dominate the market for that race, with Australia’s Cameron McEvoy the 4-6 favourite ahead of America’s Nathan Adrian at 11-2 and China’s Ning Zetao at 15-2. It is 20-1 bar those three.

McEvoy swam a blistering 47.04s at the Australian trials and if he keeps up that form he will be hard to beat. Adrian won gold in 2012 in 47.52s while Zetao won last year’s world championships with a time of 47.84s.
