Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh Pant are flying to England as provisional cover for Marcus Stoinis and Shikhar Dhawan after the duo picked up injuries in Sunday’s Australia against India game at The Oval.

Aussie all-rounder Stoinis has a side strain while India opener Dhawan defied a fractured thumb to hit a century but both camps are delaying confirming the replacements until the extent of the absences are known as replaced players cannot return to World Cup squads.

After a complete washout in Bristol yesterday followed Monday’s no result in Southampton, Betway are going 16-1 that there is no play at all in any of the next three Cricket World Cup matches in Taunton, Nottingham and Southampton.

However, a far more interesting price, given that these games will involve the current top four in the tournament betting and the current top four in the standings, is their market on who will head the table on Sunday night. Current leaders New Zealand are 5-4 favourites with India and Australia at 5-2 and England at 5-1.
