Sir Chris Hoy stands alone as the only British Olympian to have claimed six gold medals but come midnight he could be joined by former teammate Jason Kenny.

Kenny, victorious in both the team and individual sprint events in Rio, goes in the keirin today as 7-4 favourite to win his third gold of the Games and judging by his, and Team GB’s, performances at the velodrome it’s hard to see that as anything but a decent price.

The Bolton sprinter has looked imperious in his first two events but given the rough nature of the keirin, this will be the hardest challenge.
