India v New Zealand abandoned: Cricket World Cup latest betting news & odds

New Zealand remain top of the World Cup standings after their match against India was abandoned without a ball being bowled following regular showers at Trent Bridge.

Both teams were denied the chance to extend their 100 per cent records after the fourth washout of the tournament and the Black Caps are 9-1 to lift the trophy. India are available at 5-2.

The previous record for number of matches abandoned at a World Cup was two in both 1992 and 2003, but that has been surpassed in a frustrating week for punters.

South Africa were reduced to 29-2 against the West Indies on Tuesday before rain forced play to stop, while Bangladesh v Sri Lanka was abandoned the next day.

New Zealand, 5-1 shots to be group-stage winners, won their opening three fixtures and received a point from the abandoned game with India, putting them one clear of Australia at the top.

India must now prepare for Sunday's clash with rivals Pakistan at Old Trafford, while New Zealand will lock horns with South Africa at Edgbaston on Wednesday.
