Germany have been getting better with every game in the Olympic football tournament and can qualify for the final by beating Nigeria in Sao Paulo tonight.

Draws against Mexico (2-2) and South Korea (3-3) had put the Germans under pressure but they wrapped up the group stage with a 10-0 triumph over Fiji and were hugely impressive 4-0 winners over Portugal in Saturday’s quarter-final.

They can expect more resistance from Nigeria, who have reached the last four despite a mounting injury list.
