England v Pakistan: World Cup betting preview, tip, team news & TV details
Expect another Jofra Archer blitz in Nottingham
TV: Sky Sports Cricket / Main Event, 10.30am Monday
Trent Bridge, Nottingham
England have twice broken the one-day international world record total when batting at Trent Bridge and they will have their sights set on another landmark when they face Pakistan in Nottingham.
Eoin Morgan's men breezed to a 104-run success over South Africa in the tournament opener a day before Pakistan crumbled against the West Indies.
With England's batsmen in such fine nick - four of their top five made half-centuries on Thursday - there are whispers that they could target an unprecedented 500 against the Men in Green.
In June last year that England fell 19 runs short of that eye-watering total against Australia at Trent Bridge but with so many of their batsmen firing, punters may want to look elsewhere for value in this game.
Best bets
Pakistan's bowling has been pinpointed as their Achilles heel but it was their performance at the crease against the West Indies which grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam were their joint-top scorers with measly scores of 22 as they were skittled out for 105 in 21.4 overs - their second-lowest World Cup total.
They were battered and bruised by the irrepressible bounce of Oshane Thomas, Jason Holder and Andre Russell, who took nine wickets between them.
Although dubbed a batsman's paradise, Trent Bridge could offer some assistance to bowlers with overcast conditions expected when the teams square up.
Jofra Archer is one player who will be looking to capitalise.
The Barbados-born paceman silenced his critics with a rip-roaring new-ball display against the Proteas, taking 3-27.
That performance coupled with some good spells in the recent ODI series with Pakistan, should be enough to consolidate his place in the team but Liam Plunkett and Chris Woakes could both be vulnerable with suggestions that Mark Wood may return.
That increases the appeal of the 3-1 about Archer, who also claimed three scalps in the warm-up game against Afghanistan, taking the most wickets for England.
Of the batsmen dislodged by the whirlwind Windies bowlers, Azam was among the sturdiest, scoring quickly before wafting at a Thomas delivery.
He registered 115 against England at Trent Bridge last month and could be worth backing to finish as Pakistan's top runscorer.
