Forget Michael Phelps, here comes the star turn of Rio 2016.

For the third Olympics in succession, Usain Bolt has had American swimmer Phelps as the best warm-up act in the business. But as the action comes thick and fast in the athletics stadium, it’s hard not to see Bolt as the Games’ main event.

Who else could draw the majority of the world’s media to a press conference which began with the Jamaican samba-dancing on to the stage surrounded by a dozen Brazilian dancers? Bolt’s charm offensive is well underway.
