In rear, moderate headway before 2 out, kept on one pace (jockey said regarding running and riding that his instructions were to take his time in order to get the gelding to relax, as it has been running keen having lost its confidence from a previous race and, as a result, not finishing its races. He added that he asked for his effort between the fourth and third last flights, but was unwilling to put the gelding under too much pressure for fear of unsettling the gelding believing that had he done so, he wouldn't have finished as close as he had done. He concluded that he was pleased with the gelding's performance although he thought he would be better over further once he has learned to settle. The trainer stated that the ride accorded with his instructions and he was happy with the ride given. He further added that this was the gelding's best run for him to date)
