Steadied after start, held up and soon detached in last, pushed along over 1f out, ran on inside final furlong, far too late (jockey said regardimg running and riding that his instructions were to sit quietly when the mare broke from the stalls and to do his best. He felt that the initial pace was very strong considering the class of the race and that the filly did not handle coming down the hill, a fact which he did not report at Scales. He further added that he had to wait for her to become balanced again after rounding the final bend after which she finished well. The trainer stated that the filly has previously been awkward leaving the stalls and had reared leaving the stalls in the past. He added that he was satisfied with the ride given and that he would look to run the mare on a flatter track in future.)
