Classy three-year-olds form the backbone of Maddy Playle's Ten To Follow

As if the Ten To Follow isn't difficult enough, this year it has been made even harder as the first part of the season hasn't taken place.

Nevertheless, I've picked out a list of horses who I think have what it takes to score at the top level, and hopefully more than once.

Mogul could prove Aidan O'Brien's best three-year-old and will have races like the Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes on his agenda.

Ocean Atlantique has fitness on his side having been in action in France and should be tough to beat in the Prix du Jockey Club. He could rack up a sequence.

In terms of the three-year-old fillies, Jessica Harrington appears to hold a strong hand. Of her selection I have plumped for Cheveley Park heroine Millisle, who should have no issue upped in trip in the 1,000 Guineas but could revert to sprinting if it doesn't work out.

Of the older horses, Japan and Roseman have the class to contest the best races over a mile and a quarter and a mile and a half while Enbihaar can be forgiven her last run due to the very soft ground and should be up to winning more races over slightly further.

Kew Gardens downed Stradivarius in the Long Distance Cup at the end of last season and I think he could confirm that form in the big races this year.

A top handicapper last season having beaten promising types First In Line and Hamish, Trueshan is on my radar for the Ebor. He progressed handsomely last season and has more to offer.

I'm not sure last year's sprint juveniles were anything special and therefore it makes sense to stick with the sensational Battaash when it comes to races over the minimum trip. When on song he is nearly unbeatable and he may finally be able to get that first Royal Ascot success in the King's Stand.

For the six-furlong races it is worth giving Khaadem another chance. He was explosive in the Stewards' Cup last season and was plainly not at home on soft ground thereafter. If the recent weather is anything to go by then he could have a profitable summer.
