Playing for places: best value each-way bets against Enable in the Eclipse
With eight runners, each-way betting on the first three and an odds-on favourite in Enable, the Coral-Eclipse is an appealing race for punters
Forgive talented Telecaster his Derby blowout
It is pretty easy to forgive Telecaster his Derby flop given it was a fourth race in relatively quick succession, and connections were concerned it could be a bridge too far at that stage in his career. He has been given time off to freshen up, and prior to the Derby looked to have huge potential. It will be tough taking on older horses for the first time but I would not be surprised if he bounced back to his previous form.

Magical must be backed – and Zabeel appeals too
Unoriginal, but I'd be stunned if Magical doesn't make the top three and if the 4-1 stays around, you're just short of getting a free bet on Aidan O'Brien's four-year-old. She was beaten just three-quarters of a length by the dual Arc heroine in the Breeder's Cup but has race fitness in her favour this time and is by far the most likely to lower Enable's colours should John Gosden's star need the run. At a bigger price I can't resist an each-way play on Zabeel Prince. He looked progressive on his two starts before his Prince of Wales's flop, but I'm happy to forgive him that performance on terrible ground.

Trust Stoute to bring out the best in Mustashry
There had been plenty of optimism behind Mustashry going into the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot with reports of him working nicely after his Lockinge success the time before. As it turned out, he was unable to back up that effort and ran a little flat in seventh. However, the ground was probably not ideal for him and trainer Sir Michael Stoute is an absolute master at getting the best from his older horses. As a previous winner over course and distance he merits strong consideration to run a solid race.
