The Lowdown: going updates, racecards, news and tips for Monday's racing
Today's news
- NOT IMPRESSED: Trainer Jamie Osborne has criticised a National Association of Racing Staff (Nars) quiz for trivialising serious allegations, while a stable staff chief has defended its publication.
- STAR NOVICE:Envoi Allen recorded back-to-back top-level wins at Naas on Sunday with Gordon Elliott favouring a crack at a novice hurdle rather than the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
- INTRIGUING EVENT: The talented Dashel Drasher landed the 2m3½f novice hurdle at Chepstow last year and the Ben Pauling-trained King Erik (2.55) is an interesting runner on his hurdling debut after finishing a promising fifth in a Warwick bumper in May.
- EVENING FEATURE: The four runners in the 1m1½f Betway Conditions Stakes (7.15) at Wolverhampton boast three-figure official ratings with Pivoine the one to beat if running to his mark of 109.
