Middle proves the meeting point for winners so draw your own conclusions
Eqtidaar contradicted this week's big-field and big-number trend in coming out of stall three in the Commonwealth Cup on his way to winning but ended midtrack to stands' side as he edged across to where the action was unfolding with Sands Of Mali (drawn 22).
Agrotera was similarly low drawn in five in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes over the straight mile but settled midtrack (where the placed horses were drawn) at the back and could probably have won from any draw, such was her superiority.
Adding to the impression that the middle of the track was the place to race on Friday was Albany winner Main Edition (15 of 18), who stayed widest from that draw with James Doyle following the wheel marks of the royal procession. Perhaps check out where the Queen makes her royal progress on Saturday!
