Kestrel Prince leads Ger Lyons' team chasing big juvenile pot

A €120,000 event, with a first prize of €70,800, has unsurprisingly attracted a strong field of juveniles, nine of them winners.

Kestrel Prince, one of three runners for Ger Lyons – who is also represented by the maidens Army Recruit and Thief Of Joy – has won two of his three starts.

The other dual winner in the line-up is the Patrick Prendergast-trained Cedars Of Lebanon, who won a leg of this series over six furlongs at this track three weeks ago.

Michael O'Callaghan is represented by Dark Pursuit, a winner over the trip at Down Royal on his only start, and Pulsing Dragon, a maiden after eight attempts.

Kestrel Prince, Dark Pursuit, Rinty Maginty and Dragon Roll have all won over the distance.

Yulong Gold Fairy, who won this event last year, went on to Listed and Group 3 success this season.

He's a tough horse and one we like. He won well over six furlongs last time and the extra furlong shouldn't be a problem.

I was pleasantly surprised by Dark Pursuit's debut win over the trip at Down Royal. I think he has improved since. Pulsing Dragon has had plenty of chances but hasn't managed to win. He's got plenty of ability but seems to have his own ideas about the game.

Patrick Prendergast, trainer of Will Be King and Cedars Of Lebanon
Will Be King is still a maiden but hasn't run a bad race. His maiden allowance should help him be competitive. Cedars Of Lebanon is a dual winner and has won over the course. She seems versatile trip-wise and is tough and genuine.

Jessica Harrington, trainer of Dragon Roll
She's in good form and takes her chance, although she would prefer more ease in the ground.

John Oxx, trainer of She's My Dream
She was staying on well at the finish when third over six furlongs at Cork, so the extra furlong should suit. She has a low weight and we're hoping for a good run.
