'He's not reached his ceiling' - Jason Weaver's leading Saturday fancy
James Hill, Charles Hitchings, Leonna Mayor and Richard Young join the panel
Who do you like in the Betway John of Gaunt at Haydock?
James Hill, tipster At his best, Safe Voyage could give weight and a beating to these, but an eight-year-old who hasn’t beaten one rival on his last two starts can’t be of interest, and I’d prefer to side with one of the youngsters. With Thanks could continue her progress, and Victoria Cup winner River Nymph looks capable of making the step out of handicap company having won three of his last five starts.
Charles Hitchings, Sporting Index This is a competitive affair and cases can be made for many. Safe Voyage won this race two years ago and dropping back down in class could see him bounce back to form. However, he has a penalty to carry and questions to answer, so at the prices I’d be dutching the progressive filly With Thanks and the solid form contender Glorious Journey.
Leonna Mayor, former jockey and broadcaster I love Safe Voyage. He’s a super yardstick and the Quinns have been in good form of late. Conditions will suit and he’s the banker for the weekend.
