This race was downgraded from a Group 3 to a Listed race in 2013, but in recent years the quality has been back on the up. In 2019 Anthony Van Dyck won it on his way to Derby glory and last year English King was promoted to Epsom favouritism after his win here.
For a while it looked like another Derby favourite might head the line-up, but High Definition’s absence from declarations on Thursday means Adayar is now the Classic hope.
