Willie Mullins has completely dominated the recent history of this race and nine-time Grade 1 winner Faugheen leads a team of three for Ireland's champion trainer as he bids to repeat his victory in the contest 12 months ago.
Mullins is going for an incredible eighth consecutive win in the race and reports Faugheen "fit and well" for his first appearance of the season.
He said: "Faugheen loves Punchestown and has won six times over the course, including four Grade 1s.
"He hasn't run since winning the Grade 1 three-miler at the festival meeting in April but going back to two miles should be fine for him at this stage of the season. He worked well last week and again this week and we're very happy with him. He's ready to roll."
Wicklow Brave and Sharjah join Faugheen in the line-up and Mullins continued: "Wicklow Brave is a Grade 1 winner over the course and trip. He fell at Galway last month but is none the worse and if he runs to his best he could be in the shake-up.
"Sharjah disappointed last time but he is a Galway Hurdle winner and if the Down Royal run hasn't taken too much out of him we'll be hoping he can pick up some prize-money."
Faugheen pros A class act over variety of distances. He has a fine record at Punchestown and there are positive reports of his well-being.
Faugheen cons His form last season was a mixed bag despite two Grade 1 wins over this course.
