Wainwright Flying Childers Stakes (Group 2) | 5f | 2yo | ITV3/Sky

Richard Hannon saddled Prix Morny runner-up Gutaifan to land this Group 2 sprint in 2015 in a new course record time. Although forecast rain in Doncaster will make breaking the clock tough, six years on it could be a similar story with Armor, who exits the Deauville Group 1 on a retrieval mission in the colours of Al Shaqab Racing.

A son of brilliant sire No Nay Never, Armor broke his maiden at the first attempt over this course and distance before finishing fifth in a hot edition of the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot. However, it wasn't until he encountered softer ground that he really started to shine, with an impressive performance in the Molecomb backed up by a creditable fourth behind the talented Perfect Power in the Morny.

Each drop of rain will be in his favour, especially given his future may lie over further than the minimum trip. With an official rating of 109 the handicapper has him 6lb clear on ratings and a likely strong pace, potentially set by outsiders Korker and Thunder Love, would further strengthen his claims.

Also returning from a trip across the Channel is the George Boughey-trained Corazon, who made all in gritty fashion in the Group 3 Prix d'Arenberg, with the reopposing Papa Don't Preach almost two lengths adrift. Prior to that, Corazon impressed with a late burst on the all-weather at Lingfield, and after just three runs he has certainly not stopped improving just yet.

The form of the Listed Roses Stakes at York will be put to the test here with winner Attagirl and runner-up Caturra set to renew their rivalry.

The pair were held up behind the pace and had to wait for splits inside the final two furlongs, but produced a rip-roaring finish with Attagirl getting the better of her rival by half a length. That margin was increasing as she hit the line and, given she travelled better throughout, Karl Burke's filly is fancied to confirm the form despite an 8lb turnaround in the weights.

What they say

Richard Hannon, trainer of Armor
He should have a good chance and it looks the right race for him. We were pleased with his run in the Morny last time.

Bryan Smart, trainer of Bond Chairman
We're really pleased with him. He didn't stay last time, but was going really well at the furlong pole and then didn't see it out. We're hoping he can put in a good run dropping in trip.

Karl Burke, trainer of Korker and Attagirl
Attagirl won a Listed race against the colts at York and has come out of the race really well. Korker has a bit to find, but he's quick and we want to see where we stand with him. He didn't stay last time.

Joe Tuite, trainer of The Organiser
Dropping in trip is in his favour and a little drop of rain would be good too as he seemed to like those conditions when he won at York first time.

Nick Bradley, managing director of Nick Bradley Racing, owners of Corazon
She won well in France last time and has come out of it fresh and well. We knew from early on she was very good and I suspect she's got a strong each-way chance in this.
