Can improver Celtic Crown overcome her wide draw in ultra-competitive handicap?

This year's 50-1 Colm Quinn BMW Mile winner Sirjack Thomas won this race last year so it could pay to watch the 2021 running closely.

Galway always offers a host of tricky handicaps but this one is particularly open and solid cases can be made for several runners, while some live contenders have been handed wide draws.

They include improving filly Celtic Crown, who will need everything to go right from stall 18, but there are few better jockeys at overcoming wide starting positions than Colin Keane.

Coill Na Sionainne, who missed an engagement earlier this week when reportedly in season, is better than she showed last time and could still be on the up, while Joseph O'Brien saddles an intriguing French recruit in Rosmana, who has form on testing ground.

Ideal Pal is just 3lb higher than when winning at Listowel last year and remains interesting, while the Denis Hogan-trained Cyrus Dallin has some useful course form and rates a danger off a workable mark.

He enjoys good ground and it might need to dry out for him to run as he has another option at the Curragh. He's solid with a good attitude. He may just have hit the front a little soon last time at Naas.

It's her first start for us so we'll be finding out about her but we're happy with what she's shown us at home.

John Murphy, trainer of Celtic Crown and High Altitude
They're coming into this on the back of good runs. The ground shouldn't be an inconvenience to either but the wide draw [in stall 18] for Celtic Crown could be a factor. She's tough, genuine and has a top rider but you need luck at Galway from there.

Michael Mulvany, trainer of Ideal Pal
He's fresh and we're hoping for a big run. He's come up the hill at Galway well before.

Andrew Slattery, trainer of Dedillon
She's a good, solid filly but the wide draw [in stall 13] isn't going to help. I think she'll go on any ground.

Matthew Smith, trainer of Snag It and Excuzio Joe
Snag It is laidback so it's difficult to get a handle on him at home. It's his first start for us so it will be a fact-finding mission. Excuzio Joe is the third reserve and has won at the track before. It was her first start of the season here on Monday and she's drawn better now.

Gillian Scott, trainer of Starting Monday
He likes the place but the draw [in stall 20] is probably going to be a major factor. He wants softer ground too.
