Newmarket trainer Gay Kelleway has warned the industry risks losing owners in droves unless it drastically improves their experience at British racecourses.

Kelleway, a Racehorse Owners Association board member, was not only critical of the restrictions owners face as a result of the coronavirus pandemic but also the manner in which they have been implemented, and said she has found it increasingly difficult to sell the prospect of ownership.

Her warning comes after Michael Dods accused some northern tracks of offering the "bare minimum" for owners, many of whom he said are subsequently reluctant to go racing under the current protocols.
