No Frankels on show in the pre-parade ring
I despair that I have to pick up this cudgel again. The Racing Post headlines with Frankel Friday and a large crowd gathers before the Classic Trial at the lovely Sandown pre-parade ring. How many Frankels are saddled or appear in the pre-parade? None.
For the Group 3 Gordon Richards Stakes only two of eight runners appeared, the outsiders Arthenus and Restorer. For the bet365 Mile just one of ten was in the pre-parade.
Last season both the BHA and Sandown discussed in the Racing Post letters column the failure of runners to pre-parade at Sandown and other course, but stated the trainers were not breaking the rules.
