Leading trainer Gary Moore given racecourse ban for breaching Covid-19 protocols

Gary Moore has been banned from attending racecourses for seven days after breaching Covid-19 protocols at the Qatar Goodwood Festival on Thursday.

Moore, who saddled 50-1 shot Junkanoo to land the 1m2f three-year-old handicap at the meeting on the same day, said he was "fully understanding" of the decision taken by the BHA.

The trainer was removed from the premises by racecourse officials and claimed it had been a misunderstanding that had caused him to take a regular route through the racecourse into an area that was segregated as part of the Covid-19 measures put in place to maintain social distancing while at the races.
