John Quinn has warned that British racing is hurtling towards a serious crisis and could soon become a "nursery" for the rest of the world.

Speaking to the Racing Post Weekender for this week's stable tour, Quinn warned: "I know the Covid-19 pandemic has been a terrible time for everyone globally, but it could take a heck of a toll on our sport if we don't act."

He added: "Prize-money levels have always been something of an issue, but now that the powers-that-be have slashed it to unacceptable levels we're in real danger of losing many owners to the sport. I accept there had to be some cuts but there are still some healthy revenue streams from broadcasters and bookmakers coming in, and to make cuts like they have is potentially disastrous.
