Jack Foley gains first British win in incident-packed conditionals' race
Leading the field proved the place to be in a rough 2m conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle as Jack Foley rode his first winner in Britain on Baratineur.
Foley, who partnered three winners in Ireland during his time with Tom Mullins, relocated three weeks ago and got up and running on the Adrian Wintle-trained front-runner.
In making all on Baratineur, Foley avoided the scrimmaging on the first bend when several horses were badly hampered, an incident for which Mark Galligan was deemed responsible on Lucky Circle and banned for eight days (April 8-15) for careless riding.

"I didn't hear anything behind me as I was keeping my position," Foley told Sky Sports Racing. "He took me there towards the first and he was in his comfort zone all the way."
Having turned professional in November, Foley is looking to make his mark for his new boss Emma Lavelle at Ogbourne Maizey in Marlborough.
"That's my first winner since I came over to England to join Emma and Barry Fenton, and I'm really enjoying it there," Foley added. "Emma has given me a few rides already and my agent Chris Broad got me on this one today."
Easy does it for Galice
Galice Macalo has run in the Tolworth and Betfair Hurdles this year and appreciated the calmer waters of the 2m mares' novice hurdle.
Sent off the 1-3 favourite for in-form trainer Jane Williams, the Culverhill Racing Club-owned mare stamped her class on the field with a slick display and will now be put away for next season.
"She jumped perfectly and has been a natural from day one," said jockey Chester Williams. "That will probably be her last run over hurdles, and of the season, and we'll look to go chasing next term."
